"It's a friendly environment to work at."
"Perfect place to work during a pandemic"
"Working at a grocery store, I directly learned and observed the organized chaos that it all is. For someone like myself who geeks out about supply chains and logistics networks, I've enjoyed my time here. Other department managers love sharing their knowledge and it becomes quite clear we all have unique stories to share."
"good process. Enjoyed the process"
"I've worked recently with the Stop and Shop supermarket company for about 3 years and working there has taught me a lot and has helped me to gain many needed and valuable skills that a lot of today's companies seek in candidates."
"Toxic work culture and lack of opportunity for growth. Lacking professionalism or decent employee treatment."
"Very nice and friendly working environment."
"Stop and Shop used to be a great place to work for, then Ahold bought it and now it is just how much profit can be squeezed out of the stores and sent overseas. The workers are great but the managers vary based on experience and age. If I was looking for a job today I would go work for an American grocery company such as Wegmans or Market Basket, who cares about the workers and customers. Stop and Shop that I knew and loved does not exist anymore except as a facade for Ahold USA. Union is useful."
"Worst store manager ever, no respect to employees or customers."
"I enjoy my job here, I am treated well and compensated well. There is a lot of pressure to perform but the satisfaction is there. The only big shortfall is a lack of a comprehensive training program for both managers and dept heads."
"I've found that Stop and Shop is a great part-time, summer job."
"I've worked for Stop and Shop for a little over two years now. The company expects too much out of their employees for such little pay and poor tools. Instead of rewarding employees for a job well done they ignore it and wonder why you didn't work harder to get more done. I bent over backwards for my position, but never seem to get anywhere."
"Worst place I ever worked. Unprofessional front end manager who screwed up everyone's schedule every other week and never did her job. Just hung around and talked to her friends and boyfriend who came in all the time. Store manager was a creep. The store was always running out of bags and that falls back onto management. The management and leadership skills lacked a lot in this store. Inconsistency and not leading by example were this store's cons."
"I've worked for Stop and Shop for 10+ years. It is a very nice company to work for, however I feel like the opportunity to advance is extremely poor and the hard working associates do not get the proper recognition."
"I've worked for Stop and Shop for almost 7 years at the store level as an ACSDH. I feel the compensation for the work is not adequate, and the decisions corporate makes can many times be contradictory to what actually happens in the store. I disagree with many policies and procedures. Management can be positive or negative, depending on the individual."
