"I am working in Motor Drive and Power Electronics lab of UCSC. I have gained lots of experience and information there so far."
"I've worked for OPERS in UCSC for almost three years. I had a great teamwork and a welcoming environment. This was very important because it brings trust in the team. When ideas came to mind I would discuss them with my boss. I had the opportunity to go beyond and help others in need. I was able to train others, help more in the facility, and educated and well inform the clients. This company taught me leadership, team worker, extending the help with other companies and groups, and most importantly expand your ideas to the company."
"Workin in ITS Learning Technologies at UCSC has been fantastic. My supervisors are very supportive and passionate about helping students enhance their careers. What motivated me the most in this position is the ability to continue learning new skills and independence I had to go about doing my work."
"Excellent job position for graduate students"
"Working as a Mechatronics tutor is a lot of work, but great for solidifying the concepts used in the course. You get the chance to pass on your insight and help students build a very useful framework of skills."
"It was a fair job with a great community of student workers. My only recommendation for the job was to be more understanding and accepting of younger workers aiming to find a career with the university maintenance staff. I witnessed three younger managers leave the university because they did not appreciate the way the senior staff treated them."
"Good place to work and stay"
"Great chemistry department to pursue your doctorate program. Nice department staff and reliable technical assistance. Interdisciplinary research advisors are available."
"The applied math department at UCSC has several great faculty members with a variety of research backgrounds. The faculty are also dedicated to making sure that you succeed."
"Very nice working in the university with talented colleagues and efficient system."
"Excellent mentorship and resources. Supportive and helpful. I enjoyed my time."
"I worked for ResNet for my junior year of college (2013-2014). Th department atmosphere was very relaxed while maintaining a reasonable level of professionalism. Our main job was dedicated to computer/network repairs for the residential halls on campus. A select few of use were moved to a web development project for six months. This project was a responsive web application (written in NodeJs, Bootstrap and Yeoman) for the UCSC Dining services in order to provide information on the location/menu/hours/events at each dining establishment around campus."
"I have worked in multiple departments on campus. I started at the bookstore and moved into ResNet then to FITC. In all cases the management was understanding and flexible. They allowed me to place academics first but held us accountable for absences."
"Pretty valuable experience. Worked with undergraduate students who remind me my earlier years as freshman."
"I worked as a an undergrad research student at the Bionics Lab at UCSC. It was a fun and challenging experience! I am always inspired by the professor over-seeing it and by the lab members I worked with."
