3.5I was at the University of Rochester for 38 years. In most ways it is a good place to work. I have no hesitation recommending to those looking for an IT position. The IT staff are capable and knowledgeable and it is a great community, lots of synergy and sharing at the grass-roots level. The central IT organization is growing rapidly and has become very bound up by its bureaucracy - IT management too focused on bureaucratic structure and not enough on function, and formal training is limited.
3.7The University’s values and expectations are excellent. Work environment is good. The salary has become increasingly less competitive. Although, the pandemic has certainly played a role in the delay of raises, the University has fallen behind with the competition in their back yard. With the overall loss of health care workers expected to leave the field because of COVID, without correcting this disparity will ultimately lead to an overall loss of morale among the individuals in this profession and globally drive down satiation level within its community.
4.5I have been working in this place for more than 2 years, friendly working environment. It is a small campus, yet a good relationship in inter- and intra-department. The resources and tools are not the best, however, it provides enough support from my P.I. Living quality is high, cheap housing here.
