"Needs some improvement."

What do you like about working at U.S. Department of Defense?

"Liberal leave policy, great training in procurement, SAP systems, Federal Acquisition Regulations, and other technical opportunities. If you want to be educated in many areas of federal procurement, supply chain and technical expertise, this is the place to go if you can get in."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"DETAILS! DETAILS! DETAILS! The more detailed your experience, the more they like it. BE SPECIFIC! BE PROACTIVE! This is NOT private industry where brevity is the key! More than anywhere else they look for key words."

What don't you like about working at U.S. Department of Defense?

"Work areas tend to be top heavy, too many chiefs and not enough Indians. Too many supervisors are in name only, they are not leaders. If the military could force more of their leadership training on civilian management it could be much better."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Learn to LEAD people, not just be the boss. A little military leadership training would go a long way. Micro-management is NOT leadership."
