What do you like about working at Verizon Wireless?
"One thing I liked about my previous position is that it allowed me to develop strong leadership skills. I was responsible for developing, supporting, and managing competitive price solutions for over 100 major consumer and business products and services that generate over $1B in annual revenue. I was put in charge of the projects where I had to earn the buy-in of people from multiple different departments including engineering, finance, legal, marketing, operations, regulatory, sales, and outside equipment vendors. I held all the responsibility for getting the projects completed on time, even though I had no real authority over my teammates since they did not report to me. I was able to create a project vision that the team agreed on, and then day-to-day I made sure that each team member completed their work on time. I did this in most cases by appealing to my teammates' own self-interests."

"Verizon Telecom is constantly downsizing, due to loss of revenue from access lines. The growth area of Verizon is in Verizon Wireless."
What don't you like about working at Verizon Wireless?
"What I liked least about my last position was when we would be ordered by the Administrative Law Judge in a federal and/or state filing to lower costs of a product or service below our costs to increase competition. This would be after we presented complete and significant supporting documentation to all legal and regulatory parties including the Administrative Law Judge, Commission Staff and interveners from other companies what our costs are with no profit margin. It was frustrating to know that we would be selling a product or service and losing money on it."
