Training is minimal, and they expect you to psychically know what to do. The company hasn't made a profit in years. They expect you to work super long hours, and you almost feel guilty for getting off on time. Again the worst company I have ever worked for. I am thankful to no longer be there."

"Do your homework on the industry. Know the key players and their relative strengths in the industry."

"While Regional management are superb, mid level management is somewhat suspect."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Middle Management should better articulate themselves, cut down on the use of sarcasm, and make a more genuine effort to invest in the well being of their direct reports."

"The work was very similar to my field of study, and I gained vauluble information that I will take with me forever."

"Yes, at this company you have to work from the bottom to strive at the top. Remain determined and you could experience a healthy career with this private comapany."

What don't you like about working at Vulcan Materials?

"I like everything overall. I cant pick out a single dislike because I have much more to be thankful in all that they taught me."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Suggestions that I would have for management would be to keep the sample shop around, because it is a vauluble asset to the company."
