6 Regional Marketing Managers from Wild Oats Markets submitted salaries.
Wild Oats Markets was a chain of food stores headquartered in Boulder, Colorado. Wild Oats Markets offered natural and organic foods such as meat, poultry, dairy, fish, grocery items, and prepared and baked goods, as well as natural health and beauty products, and household products incorporating sustainability practices into their manufacture.
In 2007, rival Whole Foods Market, Inc attempted to buy Wild Oats Markets for a sum analysts estimated at $565 million. The Federal Trade Commission objected on the grounds that the purchase would give Whole Foods a monopoly in the domestic organic and natural foods marketplace. Although a federal district court initially ruled the purchase could take place, in 2008 a Court of Appeals reversed this decision.
Whole Foods was forced to sell individual Wild Oats stores to other natural foods retailers such as Trader Joe's. In 2010, West Coast egg distributor Luberski Inc acquired the rights to Wild Oats Markets' intellectual property including the names of the proprietary brands Wild Oats sold in its stores.
At the height of its operations, Wild Oats Markets employed 8,600 workers and operated 109 stores across the United States and in British Columbia. In 2005, the chain generated gross revenues of over one billion dollars.
Director of HR is the highest paying job at Wild Oats Markets at $131,000 annually.
