"I worked at Xilinx from 1999 (hired in the midst of the tech bubble) until 2012.For the first eight years it was a fantastic, if often chaotic place to work. Then, a new CEO arrived, and the place became full of political intrigue and inchoate expectations. My experience in this regard may have been due to being in a team that wasn't a part of the core technology produced by the company, so I can't speak to whether or not being in another group would have been a different experience."
