Promotions and Outreach Specialist

"Best Employer in the state of WA"

What do you like about working at Community Transit?

"It was amazing, teaching folks how to ride the bus. Great people, great compensation and terrific benefits. I enjoyed the outreach aspect of the position, especially working with non-English speakers, senior citizens and international students. I also worked closely with local communities to create strong partnerships. It was an awesome job!"

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Emphasize team work, continuous learning and mutual respect. They are very fair, very generous and very kind. Public transportation is a great sector to work in, with a goal of reducing traffic, emissions and providing public service."

What don't you like about working at Community Transit?

"I think the fault was entirely with me. They are a very successful agency, that is steeped in history and process. I made the mistake of trying to change things up and fast track some social media projects. I should not have forgotten my place in the food chain. They operate in very specific silos, and cross functionality isn't really embraced."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"I think they do a really good job, especially the senior management team. I regret that they aren't entirely dynamic with regards to agency communications to the public, or in creating new opportunities to grow ridership via low cost or free technology. The do a great job."
