"I've been with Waddell & Reed for about a year now. Their comprehensive planning model serves clients first and not the advisor's pocketbook. Advisors help clients reach their financial goals, not push products. Management cares about clients and advisor success, and the culture of learning and development is unparalleled to any other company. Very selective with team and protective of culture. Good solid ethics and values from Midwestern based firm. This is what financial advice should look like."
"I've been at Waddell & Reed for 18 months as a contractor primarily working on their mainframe retirement effort. I have also been working on the design and implementation of their Business Intelligence and Big Data solution. Though W&R is an established community there appears to be a lack of stability in management approach. The people are good to work with, but the constant change in priorities, along with the starting and stopping of major initiatives half completed can be frustrating."
"Like any company, there are some great things and not so great things about it. As a company. I think Waddell and Reed is fine. But over time, management has made some changes on the corporate level, that don't really help the newer advisers. Especially if you are new to the industry. It really depends on the field leadership that you have in your office, they will make all the difference."
"Like it and am constantly looking for new opportunities."
"Respected by peers, stifled by atmosphere and management."
"For the specific type of individual financial advising can be a great fit."
"I am an older advisor who has tried to do just about everything that they have to offer"
