Future Metals Employee

"I worked for another company and Future Metals was their sister company and managed their hiring for them. It's a complicated setup, to say the least. They are owned by Marmon Holdings, Inc., a Berkshire Hathaway company, which comprises more than 100 autonomous businesses. My review is based on their HR dept head that was very unprofessional in handling the onboarding process as a new hire. In short, I was let go 30 days within the 90 day probation period without just cause or reason. The handling was the worst experience."

What do you like about working at Future Metals?

"It's a stable job. Managers do not micromanage, a huge plus. Work isn't too difficult. Almost guaranteed to leave on time every day."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Dress appropriately for an interview. Do not portray yourself as lazy. Be ambitious in the interview. Speak up!"

What don't you like about working at Future Metals?

"No growth opportunities. Company uses legacy technology. Upgrade!!! Budgets seem very strict. Employee base consists of older crowd who isn't very ambitious and sometimes disgruntled. Out with the old, in with the new!!!"

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Start hiring a younger crowd who can bring new ideas to the table. This company is stagnant, and without new talent, it's not going anywhere."

"Great place to go if you are done moving up and want to work stress free until you retire."

What do you like about working at Future Metals?

"It was the first HR position that I could see a clear and positive impact from the change I helped to implement."

What don't you like about working at Future Metals?

"Once the initial needs and processes of the HR department were set up, nothing new happened. The company is still at the same profit size it was when I got there. No one complained. No one quit. No one got written up."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Since I left, the senior management has changed as several have retired. I am not sure the direction the company is taking currently, however, I have heard nothing much has changed. I would tell management to push their employees to develop themselves and advance their skills. I would encourage senior management to push sales to reach out to new markets, new customers, and grow the business."
