2.8Great American is a huge company with some incredible people. While working there my coworkers were always a joy to be around and made the job worthwhile. Many of them have become life-long friends and colleagues.
With this being said, management was typically another story. As a team we seemed to have a new manager every few months, our projects changing as well. There was no room for promotions. Job titles with benefits only seemed to be available for staff that were grandfathered into the company. Most work weeks were 60 to 100 hours of work, typically without overtime or acknowledgement. During this time the turnover was incredibly high and moral was incredibly low.
I stayed with the company because I hoped over time it would improve. During that time I watched many of my friends leave for better paying positions or positions that offered benefits to support their families. Eventually I was surrounded by contractors since the company decided contracting and overseas onboarding was the new direction they wanted to go. After about a year, I no longer felt a part of the company so I left like my friends did for better opportunities.
4.4I've worked at Great American for 4 years. I really enjoy the atmosphere and the people I work with. Leadership is excellent and there is a lot of help for getting your career path going. But I'm unsure of how many opportunities there are actually to advance. There are a lot of great benefits, but there are also some basic benefits that are falling behind the times.
4.3I have worked for Great American since 2015 when the company brought me on as an intern. The company was willing to keep me on as a part time employee during my final year of college, which made it easier to pay for the final year of school. I have gone through multiple re-organizations, managers, and teams, and I always had confidence that the company would continue to be successful.
