"I worked for the New York Branch of the Industrial bank of Korea for half a year. While the people and the overall environment were nice, as it was a well established company, the policies and procedures were rigid and set, and there was almost no way for employees to be able to suggest any changes. The pay was well below the standard, and due to the low amount of employees, long hours were common and expected. Furthermore, as this was a branch of an international bank, meetings with the Head Office in Korea were common, causing meetings lasting long into the night. Training was also very haphazard, and there was no updated manual on how to run general IT procedures. I was to recreate the manual on my own. Overall, while the people were nice, the job itself left much to be desired. Lastly, there is no real way to move up within the system. Promotions are rare and only signify a title change and nothing else. If people do get promotions, it is general only Koreans that get them."
