"I haven't worked for Kmart since 2009. I stocked at least 60% of the store. I enjoy this job but wanted a career not part time job."

"I worked at Kmart for a year and a half. It was one of the worst jobs I ever had. There is no room for improvement there. There are no incentives for doing your job. There was favoritism shown to employees who had worked there for YEARS. It was not a great place to work. The managers would have you doing their job when you only receive minimum wage. All the employees hated working there because they were not treated equally. You do not receive raises nor promotions. I hated it."

"They would change the schedule without telling me. The employees are concerned more about talking/gossiping about other employees' personal lives than actually working. They can't keep an employee for more than 2 or 3 months due to the fact they fire them for unexplained reasons or they quit. Two weeks after I was fired, the assistant manager who fired me messaged me and actually asked me to go out on a date with him. I would strongly not recommend working here."

"I have worked with Kmart for a little over 2 years. The work environment is great. I get along with everyone and everyone works as a team to please the customer. The only downfall of working for Kmart is that I get paid 7.25 an hour and they can't afford to give out raises."

"I work at Kmart. We are very understaffed. We never have enough people to close the store. Many employees don't get enough hours. Management is not helpful. They're seen walking around the store, playing on their cell phones, and telling everybody else to get back to work. My supervisors are nice, but the exception of one, who will yell all the time, even in front of customers. Customers complain frequently, as expected in retail, but if they do it enough, you can get written up for it."

"Before I came to this job, I worked at Worlds of Fun and oh my, I can't explain how many bad work reviews it had. But honestly, I'd rather stay there than working at this joke job. Supervision SUCKS. Kmart, ever heard of proper training and proper orientation for your workers. Learn it. You guys are irresponsible with your employees. Worst place to work at, ever."

"I've worked for Kmart for over 21 years. In that time I watched it change from a company that valued its employees. To a company that would look for any reason to let someone go. At Kmart they are always rolling out a new way to do things. However some of the old ways worked best. Kmart never wanted to listen to the people doing the job but the ones at corporate. Also the CEO would drop money in the stocks to keep the stock prices up. I feel that Kmart is on its way out because they do not want to listen to their customers what few they have left. Kmart also will not listen to their own employees who do not want Kmart to fail. I would also like to say that Kmart has the highest turnover rate that I ever saw."

What don't you like about working at Kmart?

"The corporate management is horrible. They have no idea what works in the trenches and they are not open to suggestions. There has been a wage freeze for 3 years and counting which may not be the end of the world if you are have been there awhile, but if you are started out at minimum wage, it's pretty bad."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Stop requiring people to do endless, redundant tasks which could be streamlined or eliminated if you would listen to some feedback from employees. (For example: Pick Lists which do not reflect accurate shelf sizes and stock needs)"
