Montefiore Medical Center is a teaching hospital affiliated with the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City. The hospital includes a 106-bed Children’s Hospital, the world’s oldest headache center, an ambulatory care facility, the Montefiore-Einstein Center for Cancer Care, and the Montefiore-Einstein Heart Center, as well as approximately two-dozen other departments and specialized areas of service.

Montefiore is consistently ranked as one of the nation’s best hospitals. The U.S. News and World Report ranked the hospital sixth out of 180 New York City metro hospitals. The emergency room is ranked as being among the five busiest ERs in the United States. In 2004, the hospital made global news when doctors at the hospital successfully separated Carl and Clarence Aguirre, conjoined twins from the Philippines.

There are currently over 17,000 associates working at Montefiore Medical Center. These employees work at the hospital system’s three full-service, acute care hospitals, the children’s hospital, and over 20 primary and specialty care facilities in the Bronx area and in Westchester County.
