4PhD research was developed at the Brazilian Biosciences National Laboratory of the National Center for Research in Energy and Materials (LNBio, CNPEM) under the advisor of Dr. Artur T. Cordeiro. PhD thesis focusses on identify and test novel drug candidates as inhibitors of Laishmania mexicana Phosphoglucose Isomerase (LmPGI), an enzyme involved in the parasite carbohydrate metabolism. The cell-based inhibition assays training was conducted as an internship aboard at the NYU School of Medicine under the supervision of Ana Rodriguez where I developed in vitro and in vivo inhibition assays of a set of hits identified by target based HTS, as part of my PhD project.
I have a strong work ethic, have developed strong independent research skills and confidence my background will help address daily work challenges. I’m very motivated to work setting up different experimental protocols and keep learning the many tools used in Medicinal Chemistry.
