Overview Franklin University is a private, non profit university located in Columbus, Ohio. It was founded in 1902 and was originally sponsored by the YMCA School of Commerce. The university would discontinue its affiliation with the YMCA in 1964. It would continue expanding and began offering a Master of Business Administration (MBA) program in 1993.

While the university's main campus is based in Columbus, Ohio, it also operates campuses in Beavercreek, Ohio, Dublin, Ohio, Indianapolis, Indiana and in Delaware. A large number of undergraduate and graduate programs are available to meet the needs of its students. An online learning platform is also provided for students who want to learn from home. Over 80% of all students currently attending Franklin take some classes online. A total of 11,000 students are registered at the university.
