What suggestions do you have for management?
"I would say change the way they do the scheduling"
"People I worked with were great, company not as much"
What do you like about working at Fry's?
"I was never bored, and the people I worked with were generally great."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"I do not think that I could, in good conscience, recommend anyone work there if they have other options."
What don't you like about working at Fry's?
"The paranoid culture I could never get used to, and the penny pinching by top management made day to day functions difficult on a fairly routine basis. Also, every store, and even departments within stores, were pitted against one another, rather than working towards the benefit of the company as a whole."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Loosen the purse strings a little, and stop having stores/departments within stores compete with one another"
"For the most part a good employer."
"It was a good experience."
What do you like about working at Fry's?
"Nothing. I suppose its nice to get a bit of a discount on electronics but that discount doesn't apply to the things most people would want."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Stay away! They just lowered everyone's wages and a bunch of people quit or got fired. Now there are not enough people to run the store and they are desperate to find people. They just did 30 interviews yesterday and hired 20 of them. You are almost sure to get a job here but the quality of work will suck and minimum wage with the hours they give are not enough to pay your bills. I repeat... Just stay away."
What don't you like about working at Fry's?
"There is too much to describe here. My main complaint is the lack of an IT department and the fact that the systems used to run the store haven't been current in over 15 years. We still have to make imprints of credit cards in some cases and it takes around 20 minutes to pay by check!"
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Hire an IT department to maintain your failing systems and write new software for checkout. Get rid of the stupid commission system. It doesn't work in a box store like this. These things anger customers. The experience needs to be quick and painless for all parties involved. Also... DO YOUR JOB! The managers here don't seem to do very much."
