"The CEO should listen to his people."
"Tough times break apart companies"
What do you like about working at Global Water?
"There was a lot of new ideas and technology and that kept things fresh. I also liked the community involvement."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"There are some good jobs that are core to the business like water treatment operator, etc. that will be needed no matter how bad things get. Core management knows the business. It was a good place to expand knowledge but I don't know about the culture now."
What don't you like about working at Global Water?
"They downsized dramatically but instead of keeping some of the most qualified individuals, they kept the favorites. Core management knows the industry but I think early success kept them from seeing the signs and acting on them in a proper manner."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Business is business but it seems the reasoning to let some employees go was more of a personal nature - keep the teacher's pet. I feel that sometimes money was spent that should not have been spent. Looking good is not as important as delivering quality water and providing great customer service."
