"I was recruited directly out of college for a sales opportunity with PC Connection. I was formally trained in the fundamentals of sales, telesales, sales management, time management and over all professional behavior. It is training and experience that I still use today as a small business owner and VP. There is no ceiling on the growth opportunity making PC Connection a great place to start, continue or grow your career."
"Providing end users with general support such as diagnosing, repairing the faulted computer hardware and software. Managing IT systems including procurement, setup, maintenance and record. Providing emergency support in case of system, network and server problems."
What do you like about working at PC Connection?
"There is a possibility to earn a lot of money but it's far down the road, and you have become very comfortable at cold calling and breaking into businesses who already have long standing vendor relationships. I find myself thinking about work, probably more than I should. If you know what your getting yourself into, its fine."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Study the company, know what your getting into. There will be a lot of cold calling involved your first year.Your trying to build business clients to sell them the technology that's right for them. If your good with that, go for it and go all in. This job sucks if your not self-driven and if you don't jump with both feet- skating by here, is equal to torturing yourself. Know what you want and go all in for it, or don't waste your time."
What don't you like about working at PC Connection?
"Make sure you know exactly what your getting into beforehand. The job is rewarding, if you can get past the discomfort of cold calling and can put forth the serious extra hours needed to build your book of business. The first year is nothing close to easy, but hopefully you will have built your book of business by then. Good luck, and if your going to do it, jump in with both feet!"
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Focus more on innovative marketing and less on cold calling. Our business clients should at least be familiar with us before we start interacting with them, so we don't come off as telemarketers."
