The most effective method I've used in managing people has always been Choices. By providing those under you with options, you have allowed them to assume responsability, and feel more a part of the company, instead of just being a pawn. For example; You have a task or particular mission to complete, and depending on the employess strengths, you provide them with up to 3 options, although the options/choices are those which you've come up with, they have the choice of which of the said options to use. I feel this is a very effective method, as it provides the employee with a sense of self worth, a feeling of usefulness, and as a result, the company gains a high level of moral. And you, as the manager, gain the respect of those whome you are managing.
