Roosevelt University Careers & Info

Roosevelt University Overview

Roosevelt University is a private university whose main campus is located in Chicago, Illinois. It is named after former US president Franklin Delano Roosevelt. The university's history goes back to 1945. It was founded by Edward Sparling, who served as president of Chicago's Central YMCA College. Dissatisfied with the board's demand that he provide data on student demographics, which he believed would be used to limit the number of minorities and women at the school, Sparling resigned and founded a new college.

Roosevelt University is currently home to 7,306 students in total. The university's commitment to diversity continues to this date. It is featured among the New York Times list of top ten most diverse private universities in the United States.
