"Dear Hiring Manager: As an experienced CPA, with a very diverse and unique set of experience, I believe I am a great fit for your company. Over the past 21 years, I have held past positions in auditing at two of the big four accounting firms, as well as the energy sector at a solar company, consumer products and pharmaceuticals. Each brings its own set of distinctive capabilities and proficiencies that I bring with me to help advance your company. I am extremely knowledgeable in GAAP and Sox principles. Over the last six years, I have been responsible for closing the company’s books and records in a timely manner, and to be as accurate as possible. In my last two positions, I have been able to streamline the month-end process to allow the close to be completed faster and more efficient. I am extremely proficient in implementing Sox controls, especially surrounding the close process. I have managed by overseeing the reporting process of SEC Filings (10-Q and 10-K). I have successfully managed both external and internal audit engagements relating to the Company’s 10-Q and 10-K filings I have experience with the IPO process through my work at Sprouts. What really sets me apart is my managerial style. I recognize the importance of building strong business relationships with my colleagues of all levels, and across all functions. I believe in training and cross training my staff to be the best at what they do. I pay attention to what my people do best and I am receptive to what they want out of their careers. I understand the importance of keeping my team motivated at all times. To get the best out my people, I give them the best of me. I have managed teams as small as two and as large as thirty. Thank You for taking the time to review my resume, and I look forward to speaking about what I can do for you. You can reach me on my cell phone at (480) 392-0854, or via my personal email at finver6@hush.com. Thank You, David Finver, CPA"

"I worked for Starboard Cruise Services for 6 and half years and there were many areas that needed improvement by the time I resigned. The company has loads of potential, however communication limitations between the end users and upper management prevent the company from reaching the company's strategic objective of becoming a billion dollar company by 2016."

"A very bad place to work."

IT Specialist

"Not the place for IT career advancement."

What do you like about working at Starboard Cruise Services?

"Nice corporate office environment. Good benefits and adequate compensation. Good working conditions."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Nothing out of the ordinary. Be on time. Dress appropriately. State how your skills can add value to the company."

What don't you like about working at Starboard Cruise Services?

"The IT leadership does not have the adequate experience and vision to run a midsize IT department in the 21st century. This has created a demoralized, directionless and largely inefficient department where the associates do not respect their leaders, where mediocrity is a common denominator, and where there is no opportunity for growth or advancement. The current IT managers add little value to the organization. They are out of touch with current technology and the tremendous value it can add to the company, if leveraged efficiently. They are also out of touch with the roles, responsibilities, skillsets and potential of the IT department employees. It is a few talented people at the bottom who actually make the department chug along, with all the obstacles and ambiguity they face as result of having almost no guidance. Most IT employees stay around just to get the paycheck and the company benefits."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"The IT department needs experienced and competent IT leaders. They will create a motivated, driven IT organization that will effectively leverage technology to help the company achieve its business goals, instead of being the unfortunate misuse of money and resources that it is today."
