"I've worked for Summit Media (formerly Cox Media) since January of 2011 as a producer and an on-air personality, specifically for WBHJ 95.7 Jamz here in Birmingham. Summit Media is a good place to work for anyone in this career, but at the same time, not much different than anywhere else. The radio business as a whole is a difficult environment to navigate and prosper in, as is any other sector of the entertainment industry."
"This really is the tale of two companies. When I started working at Summit there was no direction or vision as to where the company should go in the future. After emerging from a bankruptcy filing, the CEO and the rest of his regime were fired and a new set of executives came in to run the show. Now there is a consistent vision on how to grow this company for the future. However, if you are not an executive, don't expect any perks (i.e. bonuses) you may get from a comparably sized company."
