What do you like about working at Apria Healthcare?

"I could not find one positive working for Apria Healthcare."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Please do your research on this company prior to even applying for any position with them. If I would have done so, I would have found that harrassment and poor management are common nationwide within this company. Also, be sure to ask questions about whether or not the company is flexible for personal events including family needs or licensing needs, such as CEUs."

What don't you like about working at Apria Healthcare?

"Quoted from a previous review: The management needs to be trained in employee relations, to treat the staff equal, to tell the staff and mean it when they do a good job. When employee issues are brought to the attention of a supervisor etc they need to be addressed, resolved and not just told it will be looked into and nothing is done. The management at my branch was EXTREMELY POOR; little to no experience in managing. Management did not have a customer first attitude and behaved as if customer needs were an inconvenience to our office. The clinicians employed at our branch had poor attitudes and treated our customers and patients very poor. We had many complaints but again management did nothing to fix the problem. Due to these attitudes it was a hostile work environment and there was constant bickering among ALL staff. Lastly, I was pregnant at the time I put in my resignation and prior to my making the decision to leave I was harrassed due to my pregnancy. I was a high risk pregnancy and required regular appointments every 2 weeks and was hospitalized for a short period and for this I was repremanded and threatened that action would be taken if I did not comply with their needs to have me in the field regardless of my physical state. It was disgusting. My husband and I decided that the stress their harrassment was causing me was not worth harming my pregnancy so I left after finding HR would not help me with my situation even after receiving a letter from my physician. Lastly, I know that Apria was sending nonclinicians to complete patient set ups when it should have been licensed clinicians working with these patients and they also sent clinicians across state lines to complete patient set ups even if they were not licensed in that state. Tisk Tisk Tisk..."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Learn your job and listen to your employees. Also, customers come first; even when inconvenient to you. And for the management at the office I was employed at get a backbone, follow through on things you promise to your staff, get off your butt and get into the field instead of hiding behind your desk while the business in your market suffers and study up on techniques that make a good manager and build a strong staff. Until you begin doing these things or higher management realizes how unreliable you are, the market in this area will continue to flounder."
