"Appalachia Service Project is an emergency home repair organization that focuses on the poverty-stricken areas of Central Appalachia. This nonprofit organization is run by a passionate Christian ministry and continues to run due to its surplus of dedicated volunteers. During the summer months, ASP works with approximately 120 summer staff members who disperse around the states of West Virginia, Virginia, Tennessee, Kentucky, and North Carolina (striving 26 counties in the summer of 2019). These staff members work for 7 weeks to organize groups of volunteers who work hard to complete emergency home repair projects for families in need. The summer of 2019 alone brought in more than 17,000 volunteers. Preceding the summer months, the organization continues to impact Appalachia by working year-round and serving nonstop."
