"This business is for people who can sell. If that is not you, then you should find something else."

"Very little hope of advancement if you are not sales oriented."

"I would hire additional staff and place more emphasis on growth."

What do you like about working at Chase?
"The company has a solid reputation, and if you don't have a current book of clients, the bank channel provides a captive audience. The product mix is decent with a big push by management to do A-shares and annuities. They have a good managed money platform but most of the clients are savers and very unsophisticated. Fixed annuities and conservative funds are almost all I can sell. As for Chase, great name, benefits and platform."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"If you have a current book of business go somewhere else. If you are starting over then you can't go wrong. They want at least 3 years talent and expect them to be excited over 25% payout."
What don't you like about working at Chase?
"The comp structure leaves a lot to be desired. The current comp plan for new FAs (2011) is $24k salary year one and drops to $12k year two with a whopping 25% payout."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"More support and less micro-management. Also let adisors network outside of the bank. CPAs and Estate Attys work with a lot of wealth people."
