"I was always in the know about what was happening in the city. I worked in the Calendar section and it was fun being on top of everything before everyone else. This was also pre-social media so our paper was THE place to go for local information."

"Do more than say you are cutting edge. Be cutting edge. Back it up and constantly improve on it."

"The pay was small, but it was a very entry level position so it wasn't unexpected."

"Develop your interns more and shake up the staff writers occasionally. People got into ruts really easily."
