"Love the animals, and most of my co-workers, dislike the favoritism that is rampant and the fact that the "mean" people seem to be the favorite. The main doctors are great though, and very, very helpful to new people."

"I worked for Banfield Pet Hospital for close to three years. While I was there I felt very supported by my peers and leaders. Banfield is committed to enhancing the lives of pets and their owners through the Wellness Plan program. The Wellness Plans are in different tiers based on the pets needs and makes it affordable for the pet owner. One of the things I appreciated about Banfield was the Banfield Foundation. As a Practice Manager I was able to assist clients that were unable to afford any kind of care for their pets. The Foundation did not require specific income expectations, it was all based on my recommendation. As I worked with the Doctor teams and staff, I saw first hand that everyone wanted to give the best care for each pet. The teams communicated with the owners on what the pet's needs were and created individual care plans in order to achieve the best results for the pet. The best review I can give is that my dog Murphy was a patient at Banfield. The staff took such good care of him, that when the Practice Manager position came up in Lynnwood I quickly applied."

"I've worked for this company for 12 years. My various bosses over the years have taken advantage of my open availability. Working long hours, no breaks/lunches. Overbooking every day to meet expected numbers from corporate. It is very clear I am just a number to them. No "job well done" given."

"I've worked for Banfield for almost 3 years and it does it's best to advocate for the health of animals. Depending on the location, they strive for the quality of pets vs the quantity; and they teach the public as best they can about preventative care of pets. It's a pleasure working for a company and doctors that strive for better helth care for animals."

"Banfield Pet Hospital has been a game changer in my career and the standards I set for myself. Not only do they use their funds, support and resources to further develop technicians..they do the same with every position. My supervisor was always very helpful and invested a great deal of her time making sure my development was running smoothly. The salary was a great benefit but I think more than anything the sense of community and a bigger picture is what made me love my job the most."

"I’ve worked for Banfield now going on 5 years, it’s a good company in terms of the benefits you receive, the atmosphere at times and the company’s goal. But I regards to growing, it’s a bit hard to do so. I notice with most Banfield’s in order for you to move up you have to have friends in high places"

"Banfield, as a whole, does not respect their employees. Any previous experience an employee has isn't taken seriously as the training programs are directed towards any random person coming in. Corporate cares more about making money than they do about caring for clients and patients. Employees of Banfield are expected to devote their entire lives to the company and very little free time is available to staff outside of work. Some hospitals are horrendously understaffed, corporate does absolutely nothing to help those hospitals. Banfield would rather sacrifice proper animal care/services and employee well-being in order to allow for a bigger profit. Communication is nonexistent. Monthly staff meetings are pointless and even more free time is taken from employees. The company is inconsistent and money hungry."

"Banfield does not appear interested in pet care and more about the bottom line. I understand that it is a business, but it is sad how much they are willing to sacrifice for money. The sacrifices that affect the hospitals include life/work balance, salary/hourly pay, increased number of pets per day (thus decreasing amount of time with each pet/client), and staff turnover. I (and the rest of the staff) are treated like garbage by the Chief of Staff and her malice is ignored by her superiors."

"I have worked at Banfield for a few years as a Practice Manager and while the company is always trying to improve they are not quite there yet. The job seems impossible sometimes and can be physically and emotionally exhausting. It is hard to meet all of the expectations of the position within the confines of the current structure."
