"A great company to work for that provides a great work life balance and a great workplace environment."
"Great place to work if you're a student. Nice to have some extra money in your pocket and it's especially great to know that they're not going to overschedule you and start messing with your studies."
What do you like about working at The College of New Jersey?
"I enjoyed the friendly atmosphere and being allowed to work mostly by myself. I enjoy working with people and working on teams, but it was nice to be working with a group of people who were all working on different projects. Whenever any one was presented with a design challenge or machining problem, help was available from the machinist and other researchers but all the design decisions were ultimately the main researcher's call."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Completing a stint as a researcher is really all about the passion you are going to put into your work. Don't bother getting involved with something that you aren't going to be enthusiastic about. If doing experiments everyday isn't your cup of tea, then this job isn't for you. Show your mentor (interviewer) that you are truly interested in the subject matter and that you are capable of coming up with creative solutions to the problem you are attacking and you should be fine."
What don't you like about working at The College of New Jersey?
"There were some limitations with budget and experimental equipment. This made it difficult to complete the research to the best of my abilities. I made due with what was available, but it would have made for a better report if we had the right facilities."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"I truly enjoyed the management style, which was very hands-off but everyone was there to help if you needed it."
