"CopperCom is no longer in business"

What do you like about working at CopperCom?

"I was referred by Jim Frederickson to work for CopperCom, a pre-IPO Company. It has since been bought out by Heico Company."

What don't you like about working at CopperCom?

"I was laid-off from CopperCom in 2001. It was grossly mismanaged, and VC funding could have been stretched further, in my opinion."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"No longer managed by same staff."

Documentation Manager

"CopperCom would be the last place to seek work"

What do you like about working at CopperCom?

"Before ITS became CopperCom it was a superior place to work with dedicated engineers, but when it was bought out it was a living hell with senior management determined to increase staff size regardless of competence. Many engineers did nothing, others very little, and suggestions were not welcomed at CopperCom which is one reason so many of the original staff left. The only thing good about it was the pay."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Don't. If you must as you are desperate for employment, use flattery. CopperCom went from an independent company with under 70 employees to over 200 in one year and no new products to market and no legitimate documentation. Most of those who oversaw ITS (Florida family run company) to CopperCom (started on the west coast based on an idea but without a product) have fortunately left the skeleton drying in small quarters that once were to be massive. Be careful about honesty--as it does not bring rewards, only reprisals as insights, constructive criticisms and suggestions are not welcomed."

What don't you like about working at CopperCom?

"Private initiative was ignored, and education meant little as the private empire of CopperCom grew too fast, spent too much, and had little senior management. Politics was the general rule, and networking the rule. Talent meant little."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Find dedicated workers who have ingenuity, initiative and are not staid and ossified retrofitted workers. Look for innovation and silence politicking in the areas and between employees."
