"Crane Currency underwent two buyouts in the last decade, in 2012 the Crane family sold slightly less than half their company to a private equity firm which installed a new management team, though Crane remained a private company. In early 2018 this management team engineered the sale of Crane Currency to Crane Co. (an unrelated headquartered in Stamford, CT). The transition from a private to a public company has been painful."
