"The company that I worked for 7.5 years TDM was purchased by Dana. At first, things were great. Being part of a big company. Two months after the acquisition we were informed that our plant would be closed and our products moved to other existing Dana plants. Four months later the other plant people were trained and the products and machines were moved to the new locations. The plant closed. A few people were offered jobs to relocate or travel. I did not want to relocate or travel so I was laid off."

"do not accept any position lower than manager. Dana does not usually promote from within. I was advised it would be easier for me to leave the company and then come back and apply for a manager position than to apply internally since the company recruiters prefer outside candidates to internal."
What don't you like about working at Dana Holding?
"lack of organization, upper management and local management very distant and disconnected from what is actually happening on the shopfloor. there is no chance of promotion internally"
What suggestions do you have for management?
"develop a true job costing system that details how much the products cost to build. get connected to the actual operations on the shop floor and see how seemingly minor changes disrupt the system."
