Submit a Review"I love being able to help and grow individual contributors in their careers and growth. I love being able to mediate organizational problems and coming up with successful resolutions. I really don't like laying off people. It is just a factor of business but it is still hard to do. Firing people is definitely difficult but if you establish a realistic plan for people to improve and they do not meet those expectations, then it is really best for the organization and the person to move on. It's difficult but responsibility for your actions is critical in a fast moving environment."
"Love: Strategic decision making, ability to influence long term planning, a stepping stone to move forward in my career, mentor and coach great teams, work with cross functional teams and try new ideas.Hate: I love hands on working with systems and will not be able to do as much as I would love to."
"I'm able to drive technologies."
"Not enough emphasis on innovation for new product development."

What do you like about working at Oracle?
"Little face time or office presence required, freedom to work however is most productive."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Only do it if you have an exit strategy including timing and the will and ability to stick to it, or don't mind stagnation, in work, comp, and otherwise."
What don't you like about working at Oracle?
"Extremely bureaucratic, lots of approvals, little if any raises or bonuses except for executive management, who've basically kept all the money in the c-suite. (Your boss telling you there are no raises when your top 3 execs would all be in the top 10 CEOs for pay does not instill a sense of team.)"
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Good people are leaving. It's nigh on impossible to get anything done there, and offshoring is not helping product quality. Lastly, if you think people are going to go the extra mile when performance is obviously not rewarded, that's a big mistake, and if the economy ever picks up again, the people who you wanted to keep *are* holding grudges to the extent they're not leaving already, and will be out the door en masse."
