What don't you like about working at Dresser Industries?

"They really don't care about performance. If it meets the spec it's good enough even if it takes (literally) 10x as long to run. I came to dresser wayne as they aquired the product line I worked on and we were always about being faster, smaller, quicker, better code. That product stayed in the market place with fortune 10 installs (1000s) for over 20 years because of that. You have to understand the user and what they see and make the product no an inconvienence to use.Not receiving any type of support hindered efforts making them take longer. To be fair, their code set is 15 years old and I don't think anyone has the big picture on the code due to turnover. They have also gone big time into outsourcing the development to shainghai, with predictable results."
