4.6I've worked at GDS International for the last 8 months, and genuinely have to say I'm loving the job I started with it in mind as a stop gap, having read some of the reviews online, and have been surprised by the positive atmosphere I have been met with.
The company is trying really hard to turn around it's reputation, and has made several great strides towards this.
1. The sales team have regular training sessions on how to build value using the facts of the summit. Because the sales team are mainly commission based, and their team leaders also incentized by team members scoring, I think there was a historical culture of saying anything to get someone over the line. These days, senior management are clamping down on this hard.
2. The company has embraced Salesforce in it's entirety, and are using a 'three strike rule' if anyone doesn't use Salesforce to record calls, conversations and relationships. This has also helped with keeping the pitches honest and improving the way data is sourced and stored.
3. The Summits were completely reworked this year. Instead of selling off the attendee list, and allowing sponsors to choose whoever they want to meet with, the company surveys both delegates and solution providers. The delegates tell us about key projects coming up, and the team organizes the onsite meeting schedule with the best fit possible for these projects. The onsite satisfaction has gone through the roof.
4. The company has hired several new senior management bodies from top end companies such as Trip Advisor and RAC. These managers are helping to shape the company in a positive way.
2.1I got recruited to work in gds Nyc.
They got me to illegally work in the us and faked all of my documents.
Massive scam, huge drug culture.
There are some hilarious characters working in this organization but the reality is... this is a scam.
They do not have the people attending their summits that they claim to have attending.
Everyone knows it but either sell or pack your bags.
At the time I wasn’t as clued up as I am now.
I enjoyed the mad times but after almost 10 years reflection I look back on this job as a shameful occupation that I do not include on my cv.
