"I would say if you’re looking for a job do not work for this company I have been for this company for five years at least. they do not care about their staff all they care about is the budget. They want to be on budget at all costs and if that means you’re scraping by borrowing supplies from other buildings or going without until your administrator has issues and blames you, they don’t care the district managers and the Director of operations get all the kudos when you get a deficiency-free survey the account managers and line staff hardly get recognized for it they will give bonuses to the district manager or the DO for having a deficiency-free in a building. The account manager barely gets anything and they’re the ones in the building and so are the line staff I can’t get my district manager to barely walk in my building yet she gets a bonus for my deficiency-free survey, and my staff do all the hard work. Why do they get recognized for it? They pay their workers a very low minimum wage that they don’t even hardly want to pay. They will work you like a dog with minimal staff. Give you as little staff as possible to clean the building while the district managers just sit at home on salary collecting pay. This company gives absolutely no support to their line staff or account managers. It’s a free-for-all figure it out yourself. The reason I stay with this company and continue to do the work I do is for my residents giving them a healthy, clean safe environment is why I do what I do. I have been ready to walk away on many accounts, and I have had my wage compensation met just so I would stay! The Director of operations should really hold their district, managers, more accountable and check on them or actually communicate with account managers to see if their district managers even go to their building or support them."
"The district manager is terrible. Doesn't help when needed. Working short staff all the time. No opportunities for pay raises and or growth."
"I've worked for Healthcare Services Group, Inc for over 2 1/2 years. They are a results-oriented company and are willing to provide the necessary support to their staff when needed the most in dire situations. The CEO of the company is very kind and is approachable. Their attention to detail and cleanliness are bar none."
"Terrible company culture. Could no longer be part of that environment."
"There is nothing good about working for this company."
"I worked as a housekeeper at a nursing home for this company and they are terrible to work for, although if you're one of the suits higher up in the company I guess it might be alright. My biggest beef was that they failed to handle my workers comp claim properly. They had never provided us employees nor my supervisors (head of housekeeping and of maintenance) with our workers comp insurance company info, forcing us to go through the higher-ups in the company to file my claim and also meaning I couldn't provide the insurance company's info to the hospital my supervisor sent me to. So I got billed instead, first by the hospital and then by debt collectors. Despite me constantly bringing in the bills I was receiving and having my supervisor fax them in, they did not file my workers comp claim until the next year when it was too late to be approved. I'm still trying to get this sorted out (without their help) a few years later and may end up suing HSG. Even aside from that situation, they were terrible to work for. They want to pay minimum wage or only slightly above it forever, only giving employees a 5 or 10 cent raise annually, regardless of employee performance (so whenever minimum wage gets raised, that is the biggest raise you ever get). I was told by my immediate supervisors and residents and nurses that I was the absolute best housekeeper ever, but a raise? Ha. When my department was outsourced to HSG, they increased our workload but not our amount of time to do it in. I was often working off the clock to finish and even then was so rushed that residents couldn't understand why I'd usually clean their rooms so quickly (I had to choose only a certain amount of rooms to do well each day). This stuff is really only the tip of the iceberg, and based on reviews I've seen elsewhere there are a ton of other people disgusted with their employment for this company. You're better off staying unemployed a little longer while finding a decent company to work for."
"I've worked for healthcare for a little over a year, started in the MIT program and was promised a raise after 3 months (after the program was done) and 4 months went by; 5 months etc. After a year our account shut down and was promised to get moved with a raise... ended up getting laid-off and out of a job. DO NOT WORK FOR THIS COMPANY, one of the worst companies ever."
"Since being employed at this company, I have learned that my actual location I work and my supervisor are excellent, but my corporation that is my actual employer is a multi-billion dollar corporation that pays their housekeeping workers, and such, a wage that is not practical, livable or honest which is the bare federal minimum of today and I firmly believe that they would gladly pay us less if they legally could. Pro: great dental and accidental injury insurance, but otherwise very low wages."
