"Good company, with not so great pay"
What do you like about working at Koch Air?
"I liked the challenge of winning HVAC business from Trane in the KY and So. IN territory as they dominate the market in this area. I also enjoyed the considerable amount of products, software, mechanical contractors, and engineers that I had to become familiar with in order to meet their HVAC equipment needs as well as the fair compensation for my efforts. The company also provided product training to help get me up the learning curve to field questions from customers as well."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Display your passion for technical sales, the desire to learn the technology of a variety of HVAC equipment from RTUs to Chillers to Split Systems along with their accessories as well as the different personalities of contractors to whom you'll be selling. Display concrete examples of professional accomplishments you've had in the past in order to give yourself the best chance to receive an offer.."
What don't you like about working at Koch Air?
"As the Plan and Spec engineer bidding projects where Carrier was not frequently spec'd, it made that facet of the position very tough. I felt like I put in my best effort on those projects, but just did not get many wins."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Only worked there 11 months. Would need more time to make a fair comment."
