"I worked at L3 Communications for 11 years. During the first 9 years, it was the company to work for. After the president of the division changed hands, things looked good for a short time, then went all down hill from there. Multiple layoffs, uncertainty of employment, etc."
"Good company with good employees, but illusive directions from upper management."
"L-3 is a holding company for many corps in the military/homeland defense industry. I worked there full time for more than 10 years. You will need a security secret clearance at minimum, TS with poly is preferred. There is big money and big deception. Emphasis is always to oversell and under deliver. The individuals who can do that get promoted. Very interesting work but a great deal of documentation and paperwork accompanies all projects."
"The best part of the the company is that it allows employees to take ownership of projects. If a need arises, employees have the time and opportunity to develop creative problem solving plans."
"I have worked for L3 Communications for 9 months and have had the opportunity to learn many facets of the communication world. My 20 years in the military communication field will give me the additional knowledge to work with your company. Working with the CIA has also given me the maturity to work with the intelligence environment."
"I am working here at L-3 PPI for near 4 years as a power design engineer and gained good experience working in motor drive and actuator control applications; however, I found workplace practices unethical conducts; senior engineering staffs and often executive members verbally harass young and bright engineers. This place practices military power ranking rule of conduct on civilian engineers."
"As a contract employee I had little contact with the executive level or customers."
"Perfect and professional environment and on-site managers and staff."
"L-3 Communications has a very myopic view of IT. Since IT is overhead they are first to go in many cost cutting exercises. What they fail to see if that even in a RIF exercise the number of applications stays the same. The overall work quality becomes less based on less heads to do the work. Sr Staff should look within when wanting to make changes."
"I have worked with L-3 Communications since 2010. I have had a great time working for them on various government contracts. I would recommend them to anyone seeking employment."
"They were great to work for -- too bad sequestration and the government shutdown have hit them so hard."
"I enjoy working with the team. Exciting environment working at the space industry. Friendly work environment."

"This company goes out of it's way to save a penny, and it shows."
