"Great company to work for."
"The manager availability to each associate is very poor."
"This company is going down fast. Management is mostly young, inexperienced and are far from leaders. They have titles and that is it. Due to size increase, employees are treated as a number to be overworked. 90% African American, which makes this company unevenly diverse. The work ethic and dress code is very poor. Nothing is enforced. The race card is definitely played here. Hard work, education, and experience does not matter. It is who you know or who you kiss up too. Managers are even groomed to no longer associate with anyone who is not in management. Even if it is a long time friend. They do not develop associates and treat them as robots in a sweatshop. More work, less pay is the motto. Poor organizational structure. HR does not look out for employees."
"Lash is a great company to work for especially on the IT side. I've been there just a little over 2 years and until recently enjoyed every minute of it. However about a month ago our department was dissolved and they placed those of us who couldn't find jobs in other IT departments on the operations side of Lash, which is non-IT. I want to stay in IT that's why I'm currently looking outside of Lash."
"Good stepping stone ....."
What do you like about working at Lash Group?
"Helping disadvantaged patients was very rewarding, knowing the work I do actually makes an impact on a persons life."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"A majority of people who get hired by Lash dont have prior healthcare experience, so don't worry about the lack of healthcare exposure, just be prepared to talk more about transferable skill( communication, analytical skills etc)"
What don't you like about working at Lash Group?
"Over the years I noticed the culture of the company changed. When I first started I really felt valued and employee well being was a priority. We used to have lots of company wide functions and incentive programs (gifts cards, tickets to sports events, I even won a Wii) Then steadily the office become sad to say a cold place, it focused more on crunching numbers and cutting back (company stopped direct hires and the only way in was being a temp) I loved my program at first, I knew all my teammates and I really felt we worked together as a cohesive unit, then it got to a point where the turnover was so high people where gone before we got to build a working relationship. I felt like drone over time.Lastly, the pay was not competitive compared to what other biopharma firms/companies pay for similar roles. At first the work environment made up for the lack in pay, but when the culture changed company wide and within my program I had to move on which was not easy to do."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"I know there are still good manager at Lash, my direct manager was a GREAT leader/person and one whom I will continue to be acquainted. Please bring Lash back to what it used to be. Make the employee feel valued, keep the communication open. If its a team make it feel like a team and not a cubical where people steadily wilt away. Find someway stem the high turnover (higher compensation, or better merit increases) Set your employees up for success, either by helping them move up at Lash or setting them up to be successful by building up their skill set to be a well rounded healthcare advocate."
