"Northwest Bank seems to pay lower than other banks in my area. That may be due to the fact they originated in Pennsylvania and cost of living differs between PA and NY state. Northwest is not as fiercely sales goal driven as some of its competitors (for now at least) so that is the trade off for employees in Northwest retail bank centers. I was able to negotiate up to $40,000 a year to start as a personal banker which is not a lot, but way better than their initial offer of approximately $14/hour. Assistant managers and managers are salary; personal bankers and positions below that are hourly. There is essentially no overtime, but there are a plethora of bank holidays and the hours are manageable so I am able to maintain a good work-life balance."

"When I first started, I was very happy with my salary. Although, as my skills developed, I feel I didn't receive the proper compensation I deserved. I received a raise each year, but I felt that there were other opportunities out there that would have offered more for my skill set."
