"I have worked at old dominion for about a month but a lot of the time I wasn't doing the work that my job description had. I have reported a lot of times what I'm supposed to do but it seems that the company didn't really care about what I had to say"
"Solid place of employment Work life balance is sacrificed but a great place to earn and learn"
"Great Company to work for. Very Family oriented."
"I have worked with Old Dominion Freight Lines for a little more than 12 years. Our particular terminal has accumulated many plaques and certificates due to the successful recruitment of professional drivers, dockworkers, and clerical employees. I have been voted as an employee of the month for the Department of Defense and well known for the successful recruitment of employees throughout Southern California."
"Started working at Old Dominion Freight Line as an intern and couldn't have been more pleased with the experience. Great place to start and learn how the real world works out of college."
"Good company to work for if you are a freight driver"
"I’ve worked for Old Dominion Freight Lines for over a year now and have enjoyed every bit of it. From its competitive salaries to its relationships between co-workers, it is the leader in logistics for a reason."
"The Office Managers will lie to your face and think the workers believe them. They give the easy and good trailers to people they like and give the harder or bad trailers to people they don't like. They tell some of the employees about it and laugh. Some of the workers can get the day off or leave early any time they want while others can't and have to work longer hours to cover for them. There's some people that work out there that will run and tell the managers on everyone so they can get whatever they want and look good but most everyone knows who they are. Those same people that run and tell make fun and talk about the managers behind their backs. If they want to have an easy day or take extra breaks they just go in the office, sit on the counter or in a chair to talk to the managers and laugh at their jokes. The same employees go around telling people how easy it is to get out of work by talking, listening or laughing with the managers."
"The Warehouse environment and air quality is extremely dirty and dangerous. The Supervisors and Managers sit in the office most of the time on the internet, on their phones, talk trash about their employees, take smoke breaks all day and if you're in their "Club" you are allowed to do the same. If you're not then you are expected to work twice as hard to make up for the ones that get to slack off and cheat on their production numbers. (which nothing is done about). If you work hard you get paid the same or even less than the ones that are at "Club OD". They get to clock in as clerical so they don't even have to worry or stress about making production plus some get better schedules even though they lack seniority. Most of the upper management and office managers are in complete denial and delusional about most of the issues and upon reading this they will probably say, Oh, this person must be mad or upset and what's this person talking about but it's all fact. They also seem to care more about what they're all going to order for lunch or dinner than anything an employee has going on, then send their "Club OD" friends to pick it up for them (while on the clock). The "trainers" are lazy, get to work M-F even when they aren't training and don't have the seniority to work M-F. The Trainer positions were never posted, they just picked some of their "Club Members". The people they train learn mostly about Football, Guns, Video Games, Movies and other non work-related BS when they should be learning the job and above all SAFETY! We do have a Safety Manager but he's known as the "White Elephant" because it's very rare any one ever sees him."
"ODFL is a great company to work for. Great wages, benefits are higher than the competition. But still lower than a lot of companies."
"Dominion Dedicated Is a family run company and you can tell the dad is the owner the son is the GM and the daughter is HR. This had to be one of the most insufficiently run companies that I have ever had the opportunity to work for."
"I worked for ODFL from March 2009 to May 2013. I was employed as the Service Center Manager in Manassas, VA ( Bristow, VA ) service center. Responsible for all aspects of facility operations."
"I have worked for Old Dominion for a while now and the pay is good for what i do and they management is capable."
"Good place to work if you enjoy working 6 days a week with NO overtime pay! Management will lie to your face, they care only about numbers and not about the people who actually do the work. Do not attempt to apply here, it will be the worst mistake ever! I cannot wait to leave this place, and I'm definitely not the only one who thinks this way."
