"Well I can frame it like this. I review commercial permits for access from state roads, My position is at the District office So I review and cover permits in 4 counties. I also deal with drainage permits, monument sign permits, general way finding signs etc. On the other hand a Permit Manager in SCDOT Maintenance that only does little residential driveways and utility permits makes over 10k more a year than me. If I am away for more than 2-3 days, It takes me a week to get through all the emails and missed stuff from all the work load we carry here. I work in a staff of 3 people. One makes nearly 100k, one makes nearly 80k and im at 42k. The Permit managers in Maintenance only handle two types of permits and they all make over 10k more than me."
