3 Computer Professionals from Fermi National Accelerator Lab submitted salaries.
Fermi National Accelerator Lab (Fermilab) is a U.S. national laboratory whose mission is to expand the frontiers of particle physics. Established in 1967 by the Department of Energy, it was one of the first laboratories to build accelerator rings for particle colliders. Though it was not chosen as the site for the Large Hadron Collider, it does participate as part of its computing grid.
Fermilab is located in Batavia, Illinois. Its many remarkable experimental activities in particle research have yielded results in interferometers, methods of neutrino oscillation and the Tevatron proton-antiproton collider. Most recently, Fermilab was part of the consortium that announced the discovery of the Higgs-like boson particle, widely considered to be a major breakthrough in particle physics. Its annual operating budget is approximately $400 million.
Fermilab employs approximately 2,000 people at its Batavia location. Career opportunities for particle physicists, scientists, computational physicists, research associates, project managers and network architects are available. Positions for internal auditors and project control specialists are also offered. Salaries are competitive for the field of scientific research, and benefit packages include HMO and PPO health insurance options. Sick leave, vacation and tuition assistance are also available for eligible employees.
Systems Analyst is the highest paying job at Fermi National Accelerator Lab at $105,000 annually.
