5I had an instant connection to FirstService Residential, when I began my employment at the start of 2019. From my initial interviews, to my introduction to my current on-site team, to my company standard trainings, I felt a deep connection to the the FSR team and our culture. The employees within our company have a profound love for our culture and principles, which I could tell they eat sleep and breath.
My company standard trainings were conducted by one of our wonderful Training and Development Managers, whom not only made our training group feel excited and engaged in the training, but she also made us feel like family. In fact, I still keep in touch with members of that training, including Alia, even though we are all based from different FSR locations. Her willingness to provide continued assistance throughout my journey here showed me how much FSR values our employees.
Once I began my on-site duties the company culture and standards only continued to be shown. My direct supervisor, along with my current on-site team made me feel welcome and offered me assistance and training whenever it was needed.
I was lucky enough to attend the FSR Annual Meeting shortly after my hiring, which only deepened my love for our company and its beliefs. I was able to learn the inner workings and growth of our organization, interact with our business leaders, observe the achievements of current employees, and form relationships with other employees within the company that I may not have met otherwise.

3.2FS Residential is the country's largest property management firm, managing over 6 million units in the US and many in Canada as well. The company offers a great many services to multifamily buildings including energy management. While the company provides top notch service to its clients, the employees are generally overworked and slightly under paid.
2.6I have worked for FirstService Residential since 2012 as a Community Manager. The company does not offer a work/life balance to their employees or an opportunity to work from home as necessary. Continued education is not offered through the company or used as a determining factor along with performance to determine job advancement.
