"I have worked at Autotrader.com for over 7 years and it is a great company and the people are the best and brightest."
"I worked for the company for a few years, and over time the environment and morale just constantly got worse. We were allowed to telecommute 3 days a week, which was fantastic, but that was ultimately taken away from use and replaced with low satisfaction and everything based on how many work items we complete in a day. We were penalized for being 1 minute late or leaving 1 minute early, causing several top performers to be terminated. Managers and VP of Cust Ops did not show any compassion."
"I've worked with AutoTrader.com for over six years."
"A terrific place to work with a very high caliber development team and solid management."

What don't you like about working at AutoTrader.com?
"You cannot control when a dealer cancels and that hits your over all monthly number/quota. So in other words if you need to sell 2k per month to meet quota, and a dealer cancels for 4k, you now have to sell 6k to make up for that downsell. Also they used to assign a lot of mundane task but have gotten much better. SOOO much training (out of state) and lots of time out of the field for unnecessary reasons. Also the commission is based on a rolling 3 month average. So in one month if you are -3k (from downsells or cancels), then +1k then on the third month +4k , on the third month you are only credited for 66% (not 4k.) so you sometimes get taken advantage of."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Stop the rolling average and stop allowing the company to sell select ads and let your reps do it."
