What do you like about working at The National Aquarium?
"The majority of staff are genuinely interested, enthusiastic, and passionate about their work. They are an interested and eclectic group of people to work with, they all enjoy finding the fun in life."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Make sure that you are passionate about the job you are applying for. The National Aquarium can be a good stepping stone along your career path but there aren't many growth opportunities so bring along your exit strategy."
What don't you like about working at The National Aquarium?
"The phrase that's the way we've always done it is far too commonplace. There is hesitation and resistance to innovations and the separate departments don't work well together. Power struggles or fear of losing power within the leadership team keeps the workforce from reaching full potential. You also tend to find out about changes or new programs through the grapevine and after the fact."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"I would try to increase communication and teamwork across departments and throughout the Aquarium as a whole. Cooperation could lead to greater success. Continue the work of freshening up the Aquarium with new exhibits and refurbishments."
