VCU Health System Employee

"VCU Health has been going through some growing pains. The hospital itself is wonderful, the healthcare staff work very hard and provide excellent service. The administration on the other hand, especially in IT, up until recently has been lacking quite severely. They are playing catch up and seem to be turning things around. However, cost of benefits and parking are atrocious. It shouldn't cost people so much to go to work."

"It was the a-okay company. Leadership sometimes does not listen or make sure employees have all things that need to get the job done correctly."

"The organization as a whole is fantastic to work for but this particular department has too many flaws at this time, and needs some restructuring. The autonomy as a nurse is something we can look for our entire careers and never get, but not having the support of your supervisors makes it not worth it overall."

"I did not work directly for the hospital. I was a contractor, handling IT for the desktop support side of VCU Health Systems.. Even so they treated me like family the whole time. I made a lot of friends and contacts. I wouldn't trade a thing and I would go back in a heartbeat."
